Ponte City Restaurant
This render was done during an internal challenge at Valentin Studio during my 6 months internship.
There was no constraint on the render appart that it should be an architectural one.
I choose to make a fictionnal renovation of the famous Ponte City building in Johannesburg, South Africa by adding a restaurant and elevator in the distinct central structure.
I went for a certain Cyberpunk-esque vibe, with a night render lit by city lights and windows. You can almost distinguish a crowd walking on the ground floor,
symbolizing a busy night time city outside.
There was also the goal to hide the logo of the company somewhere on the render, I should to hide it in plain sight by etching it on the concrete bellow
where passers-by are walking.
If I remember correctly I ended up in second place for this challenge with seven participants, but it was not completly fair since we didn’t had
an equal time to work on it.
Modelled in 3DS max, Railclone plugin was used for the structure, rendered in Corona, post-production in Fusion.
